Showing appreciation to the person that puts up with you everyday.
It is important to celebrate the people around you that help you to be better and make your life easier. If you are in a position where you have a secretary or assistant, you know this individual makes your life better! For this reason, National Administrative Professionals’ Day (April 24th) and Week (April 21st – 27th) is widely observed in many workplaces in the United States.
History of the Day
During World War II there was a huge need for skilled administrative professionals, and so The National Secretaries Association was formed. The association recognized the role secretaries and other administrative workers played in our economy, and encouraged others to follow in similar career paths. To this day, administrative professionals’ roles are critical to making our organizations function at their best, and we should jump on any opportunity to say ‘Thank you for all you do’!
Many managers and business owners choose to show their appreciation in a few simple ways:
- A note/card of appreciation: Let them know they are doing a good job and you appreciation them.
- Do something nice for them: Take them out for lunch, get them a new desk chair, or give them a Friday off just to show your appreciation. They will appreciate you not just saying you appreciate them, but actually showing it.
- Goodies: A small token of your appreciation will mean a lot. We recommend a treat they can munch on at their desks; such as our one of our Absurdly Delicious Popcorn Tins! Choose from 1,2, or 3 flavors in a variety of sizes. We have an Absurdly delicious flavor for everyone. We recommend our ½ or 1 gallon tins for individual gifts, or any of our larger tins for offices with multiple administrative professionals. Or gift them our e-gift certificate. SHOP NOW!
